Yr Urdd means "The League of Youth" and most children in Wales are involved. It is open to all children from Reception through to Year 6.
The big event of the year is the Eisteddfod festival, which is a national gathering of children from all over Wales. At Eisteddfod there is singing, dancing, acting, arts and crafts and much more.
Yr Urdd at Ysgol y Dderi offers a varied calendar of events that allows children to explore a variety of activities that are fun and educational. This could be anything including: -
Once a year, there is a chance for the older Urdd members to spend a weekend at the Urdd camp in Llangrannog, Cardiff and Glan-llyn.
For Years 1 to 6, it meets every Wednesday from 3.30 until 4.30 (sometimes later for several activities - there will always be notification about this). Please could you ensure that you collect your child promptly at 4.30. Thank you.
Year 1 and reception will meet on Monday at lunchtime.
